Obviously his back is really hurting. I'm surprised this was not accompanied by the news that Gagne was left off the roster as well. I have not seen who was put on, but I would assume it is Tavarez - he is so versatile. In fact, he may even be my choice to start a game over Lester. Lester just walks too many guys.I still would like to see Gagne off and add Corey. And maybe you start Taverez or Lester in Game 2. I would fee awful uncomfortable with the "new" starter pitching in COL.And one problem with Beckett on 3 days, is you then have the game 5 starter on short res. Unless they do something likeBeckettSchillDice-KBeckettTav/LestSchill (w/ extra day rest)Beckett again or Dice-K (w/extra rest)
It's Snyder.Wakefield:"Based on the information I'm getting from the doctors, I'm seriously at risk of injuring myself for the rest of my life. So that had a lot of weight in the decision."Game 4 may well have been his last MLB appearance. Pretty sad.

Don't you love Boras coming out and saying he doesn't want to talk economics yet - he wants to see what way the franchise is going. What a joke. They are the Yankees. Their stated goal is to win the WS every year and they will spend the $$ to do it as evidenced by having had the highest payroll in baseball for the past 12+years. This is not the Tigers or the Marlins or the Diamondbacks we are talking about. They are not going to rebuild. Its the freakin Yankees. Obviously he is doing it to drag out the time before the "deadline" and then he can have the gun more squarely at their heads, but to say that stuff is pretty insulting.
