Wisdom from Tito

"If there's an occasional bump in the road, that doesn't take the place of 140 R.B.I."

  1. Wasn't I just saying something about Tito being the ultimate take one for the team guy....

I hate to say this, but I can only imagine the shenanigans that would surround this club in september if they found themselves 15 games out of the playoffs. Of course its not that likely to happen but can you imagine the things that would go on and the statements that Tito would make to "excuse" the behavior.

  2. All is right in the world.

Murray is back to his usual tricks, He starts an article about the WBC and then goes on an anti-Manny tirade.

  3. Actually, Chass reverted a couple days ago. "That Major League Baseball chooses to act against amphetamines in 2006 is farcical. You almost have to cover your face when you snicker at the thought."

  4. Melvin Mora didn't want to play CF, so that's an ok reason to not play. Nice reasoning, Chass...

How about the bit about other superstars are not dropping out at the rate the "media" would have you think they are? Classic...This morning Pedro and Vlad Guerrero bowed out...

He glosses over the fact that Rivera is not pitching for Panama by saying that "Panama would be better with Mariano Rivera in its bullpen, assuming the Panamanians could have a late-inning lead against Puerto Rico, Cuba or the Netherlands." Isn't that the same as just not playing?

This guy is such a hack...

  5. Yeah great point on Rivera - the actual real reason he orignally stated was that he didn't think they had much chance of winning.

  7. Hey, that's pretty good!

Late last night I watched some of the Pool A (for "Asia") action. Pretty fun; the stands were surprisingly empty. I stopped watching when the score of the Japan/China game was 2-2, so I missed the part where Japan scored 16 runs in 4 innings, and the mercy rule was invoked.
