I have never seen this before.

From Yahoo's game cast of the Yankees-A's game, going into the 6th, with the Yankees down by 12:
- M. Bellhorn at shortstop
- M. Lawton in left field
- B. Crosby in right field
- A. Phillips at third
- J. Flaherty at first
- T. Womack in center field
- W. Nieves catching
Torre just replaced 7 of the 8 position players. At the same time. Welcome to September.

  1. I just realized...Flaherty at first? I looked it up, and he's never played a position other than catcher in the majors before.

  2. ...And apparently he's really good at first, as he now has a lifetine FP of 1.000. Total number of chances: one.

  3. Probably helped that his team was in the process of being dismantled by the A's.

    Bellhorn remains 0 for Yankee.

  4. So much for Haren only being good against second division teams. Or the weak A's offense - in their last 10 games they have scored 71 runs.

It sure was nice to flip over to the local fox channel after the Sox game and see the A's up 6-0.

On the birght(er) side, it appears that Shawn Chacon has decided to pitch like Shawn Chacon and Al Leiter has realized he is Al Leiter.

  6. The Oakland offense...well, never mind. The A's didn't fare to well in the run scoring department in those last two games...7-0 and 7-3...
